20 Years inomed

The inomed Medizintechnik GmbH celebrates a grand anniversary this year. On the 11.11.2011 the innovative company with its headquarter in Emmendingen turns 20 years old, and looks back on two extremely successful decades. In the future, the company will remain true to its innovative philosophy and will create new milestones by investing in research and new developments in its business areas Intraoperative Neuromonitoring, Functional Neurosurgery, Pain Treatment and Neurological Diagnostics.

Even the German chancellor Angela Merkel was impressed by inomeds power of innovation. Last year she visited inomeds booth at the Medica in Düsseldorf, one of the largest medical fairs of the world, and pointed the special meaning of the new developments of the medical technology out.

From two man firm to a worldwide company
inomed was founded in 1991 in Teningen by CEO Rudi Mattmüller and plant manager Dieter Mussler. The company generates a turnover of more than 10 Million Euros a year. A significant part of it is reinvested in research and development programs. 2010 the company moved to new facilities in Emmendingen. The modern new home offers space for inspiration and trend-setting high-tech developments. This also leads the way to new international markets. Meanwhile, inomed has over 100 employees and distributes its products worldwide.

Innovative tradition
1991 inomed started with the development of stimulation probes fort he identification and safety oft he facial nerve. Therefore the ability for facial expressions and facial motor can be saved within difficult interventions in ENT- and neurosurgery. Already in 1995 inomed led the way tot he succesful next decades. Together with surgeons, inomed has developed pioneering methods for monitoring vocal cords and is still the market leader in recurrent nerve monitoring during thyroid surgery in Germany. In Germany there are more than 100.000 thyroid surgerys a year.

Further successful research projects and product developments in the nervemonitoring and also in new areas as functional neurosurgery, pain treatment and neuerological diagnostics enabled inomed to be successful and gain a huge recognition in the field of medical technology.

Besides very important inventions inomed shares ist competence and knowledge in form of courses and seminars in the company and on fairs and congresses. Distributors, users and surgeons can profit from the professional Know-how oft the competent inomed employees.
